Happy Chinese New Year! There was a time I sort of addicted to Taiwan and went there very often. I think its a country that combined a modern city and beautiful country side, People are very friendly and passion-ed.
Taiwanese food impressed me a lot with its taste, hence I would like to share a Taiwanese style recipe today - marinated grounded pork
Its a very common dish in Taiwan, you can see it everywhere in the restaurants there, they put this grounded pork on top of rice / noodles, simple but tasty

Ingredients :
Grounded Pork 500 Gram
Chestnut mushroom or any strong flavour mushroom 8pcs
Red Onion 2 / Shallot 1 bowl
Star anise 2pcs
Corn Starch 1 bowl
Olive Oil 3 Tbs
Oyster sauce 3Tbs
Soy sauce 3 Tbs
Dark soy sauce 2 Tbs
Chinese 5 spices 2 Teaspoon
Sugar 1 Teaspoon
Water
As I cannot find shallot today, i used 2 red onions instead, chopped them into small pieces

mixed it with corn starch

Use a deep fryer to fry it, it doesnt takes long, as long as the outer is getting crispy then you can take it out and drip

crush the onion once it gets cooler

heat oil over medium-high heat, add minced garlic, saute about 2 mins

add mushroom and cook until it gets soft

add grounded pork and keep stir

when the pork is half cooked, add 2 teaspoon chinese 5 spices and stir

add the fried onion when the pork is well cooked

add 3Tbs oyster sauce , 3Tbs Soy sauce, 2Tbs dark soy sauce, stir for about 3 mins

add 2pcs star anise and boiling water, water should nearly cover all the ingredients, add 1 teaspoon sugar then put the lid on, cook with a low heat for about 20mins and serve
