[Tempted your appetite] Pork chops with Red wine onion sauce

Welcome to fat chick kitchen!

With what’s happening around the world recently with the coronavirus crisis.Believe that there are many people are same like me, beside going to work, you spend the rest of the time at home.

I admit that it’s quite boring to stay at home all the time but I wish everybody can be self discipline, don’t hang around outside just because you are bored.

Stay in! Do it for medical professionals, do it for your family and do it for yourself!

Because of the situation, I guess everyone has to cook at home more often, people around me are complaining dunno what to cook for their family anymore and started repeating the same food over and over again. So,Today I’m sharing a pork chop with red wine onion sauce recipe that’s has with a hint of sweetness and sourness, the food will tempt your appetite, both adults and kids will love it.

Let’s prepare the onion first, we chop the onion into thin slices

I’ve use 8 thin slice pork chops in this video, it’s about 2lbs. You can also use the thicker pork chops if you like. We have to tenderize the pork chop with the back of the knife. Do it horizontally , vertically and on both side.

Remove the moisture from the pork chops with kitchen paper ..... then we do a bit of seasoning. Just seasoning one side of the pork chop with a tiny pitch of pink salt and grounded pepper corn. I normally go for pink salt or sea salt rather than table salt cox I think they have a better flavor. Later when we cook, we will place the season sided at the bottom.

We will be using 200ml red wine today, for better taste, I normally go for more heavy wine or you can choose the wine that you like to drink instead. And remember! Never use wine for cooking if you aren’t prepared to drink it, in other words, don’t use bad wine!

Heat up the pan with medium heat. Add a tablespoon of oil n approx a tablespoon of butter.

After the butter melts , add the onion and stir it until it gets softer.

Add 2 tbs lee and parents and 2 tbs brown sugar 2 tbs soy sauce , Mix then well then we add the red wine. Let it cook on a small heat for about 15 mins.

Now we can prepare the pork chops. Use another pan, heat up with medium high heat. Add a tbs oil , place the pork chop with seasoned side down. Add salt and pepper to the unseasoned side, then cook both side until they get golden brown.

While waiting for the pork chop. We can mix a tbs corn starch with water, then add it to the onion n wine sauce to help thicken it.

Season the sauce with a bit of salt and black pepper to taste, test it to see if you wanna add more brown sugar to balance the Sourness from the wine and lee and parents. So The sauce is ready now.

Now the pork chop should be almost ready as well. I will turn it for about 2-3 times each side and make sure the whole piece is with nice golden brown color before I take them out.

Then we can add the onion sauce on top of the pork chop, it’s ready to eat.

I really enjoyed this dish. I think it’s a good dish to prepared especially for now, the weather is getting hotter, humidity is getting high, and with the virus crisis is upsetting people everyday. So, if your appetite has become bored. Hopefully this easy dish can provides some alternative inspiration.

I hope you will enjoy this video and will try to cook it yourself. If you did it, you can always inbox me with the photo of your meal. I will be very happy to receive it.
